We are now scheduling for all insurance plans.
We will be offering COVID vaccines to all patient 6 months of age and older as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). This includes the following groups:
Children 5 years of age and older will receive Pfizer’s COVID vaccine. Children 6 months to 4 years old with receive Moderna’s Spikevax (as Pfizer’s product was not approved in this age group). However, due to changes in governmental recommendations, we cannot insure that all vaccines will be covered by your insurance company. If it is not covered, you will be responsible for the cost of the vaccine. Before scheduling, we encourage you to call your insurance company and see if they will be covering the COVID vaccine for your children in 2025. If it will not be covered, you have the option of paying out of pocket at our office, or you can schedule an appointment to get it at the health department, in which case the vaccine is covered by the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program as you would be considered “Under-insured” for the vaccine.
COVID Vaccines will have to be scheduled by calling the office. If you would like to see about scheduling a COVID vaccine at the same time as a flu shot you signed up for online, you will need to message or call the office to add it to the scheduled visit.
This Fact Sheet from the FDA contains information to help you understand the risks and benefits of the Comirnaty Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for everyone 12 years of age and older.
This is the statement letter from the AAP regarding their recommendations on who should receive a COVID Vaccine in 2025
