Now scheduling 2024-2025 FLU & COVID vaccines

INFLUENZA VACCINation 2024-2025

We are now scheduling for all insurance plans.

  • We will offer the flu shot for all kids 6 months of age and older.
  • We will offer Flumist for all kids 3 years of age and older.
  • Appointments will be scheduled Monday through Friday, beginning Monday, September 16, 2024 for both Private and VFC State Medicaid Insurance Plans.
  • Vaccines can also be given at any well or sick appointment (if the child is not having fevers or respiratory issues).
  • Flumist may not be available until mid October.
  • Before coming in for your appointment, we ask that you CHECK IN ONLINE for EACH child through the patient portal to help get everyone in and out of the office, quickly.
  • You can also take advantage of our ONLINE SCHEDULING, through our patient portal.  Here’s how:
    • Log into your family portal.
    • Select any child (if you have more than one) and click on APPOINTMENTS.
    • Click on FIND APPOINTMENTS
    • Make sure Speciality is set to "Pediatric Medicine"
    • Set Reason for Visit to "Flu Shot Visit" for a flu shot or "Injection/Vaccination" for the Flumist.
    • You can pick any slot available in green. We are scheduling families every 20 min.
    • If you don't see a slot available and Provider is not set to "Redbird Clinical Visit," click on Discover other providers from IL - Redbird Pediatrics under Can't find what you're looking for?
    • Click Schedule Appointment
    • If  you have more than one child, send us a message through the portal or call the office and let us know the date and time of your current appointment and which siblings you would like to add, and we will get them all registered at the same time. (You will not be able to double book an appointment online.)
    • If you have more than two children to schedule at a time, we may ask you to reschedule the initial slot depending on the number of vaccinations already scheduled that day
  • You can also call us during normal business hours to schedule an appointment.

COVID VACCINATION 2024-2025

We will also begin scheduling Covid vaccinations for the 2024-2025 season.

  • 5 years of age and older - will receive one dose of the new Covid vaccination, regardless of their previous vaccination status.
  • 6 months to 4 years of age, who previously received 2 or 3 vaccines - will get one dose of this year‘s vaccine.
  • 6 months to 4 years of age, who previously received only 1 vaccine - will get two doses of this year‘s vaccine (2nd dose is given 8 weeks after the second)
  • 6 months to 4 years of age, who has NOT received any previous doses - would be recommended to get a 3 dose series (2nd dose is given 3 weeks after the 1st;  3rd is given 8 weeks after the second)

If you would like to schedule a COVID vaccine either by itself or with the flu shot, you will need to call the office to schedule or have it added to your flu shot appointment.  Please note, for kids 6 months to 4 years old, we will only be scheduling COVID vaccines on Tuesdays, as this vaccine is the still supplied with multiple doses in a single vial.  If you need another appointment day, we will try to accommodate those requests.
