Drs. Johnston and Ponciroli have been seeing patients in St. Clair County for a combined 35 years. They are both Board Certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Johnston grew up in Glen Carbon, IL and did her undergraduate studies at Indiana University Bloomington obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Minor in Public and Environmental Affairs. After graduating from college a year early, she worked as a senior research assistant studying critical care pediatric research at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital Pediatric Research Institute for three years, during which time she decided to further her career as a medical doctor. She graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 2001, and then returned to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis to complete her residency in 2004. She has been practicing Pediatrics in St. Clair County since 2004. Dr. Johnston is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Illinois State Medical Society.
She lives in O’Fallon, IL with her husband, son, daughter and beloved golden retriever. She enjoys traveling, snow skiing, and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Ponciroli grew up in St. Louis County and attended the University of Missouri - Columbia for 8 years, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and completing Medical School in 2003. He did his residency at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital and has been practicing Pediatrics in St. Clair County since 2006. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Illinois State Medical Society.
His lives in Shiloh with his wife and three daughters. He enjoys running, watching his kids play every sport possible, Cardinal Baseball, and, of course, making balloon animals.
Melissa Thole grew up Highland IL. She attended Chamberlain University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduating with honors, in 2009. She completed her Masters of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University with honors in 2016. Melissa is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nursing Credentialing Center. She has been practicing as a Nurse Practitioner in pediatric primary care since 2019.
She lives in Highland with her husband, 3 daughters, and white boxer Olaf. She enjoys “glamping” in their camper, spending time on her deck watching her kids and dog play, and Sunday dinner with her family and parents.
